EXPLORATIONS ON GREY FRIAR BY GLADYS SELLERS 1957
Lancashire Caving & Climbing Club Bulletin and Journal climbing guides 1947 – 2002
Number 6. The Journal Vol 1 No 6, 1957; Editor F. Stanworth; Explorations on Grey Friar; Gladys Sellers; pages 30 – 31; diagram; 2 routes.
Grey Friar sits above Carble Hows which is described as the most remote crag listed in the 1993 guide, Dow Duddon & Slate. I can find no current record of climbs on Grey Friar and is described only as a summit on UKC. This may well be the only record and guide to climbs at this crag. An additional route ‘Lower Crag Buttress’ is described in the 1959 LCCC journal climbed by D. Atherton, M. Knowles and G. Sellers on the 16th June 1957.
